At Kriegershaus German Shepherds our goal is to produce dogs with excellent health, temperament and working ability. We feel looks are also important but only if the first three goals are met. Any dog we use for breeding has been thoroughly health checked as well as x-rayed clear of hip and elbow dysplasia. All of our puppies come with a hip & health guarantee.

Our puppies are raised in our home and are well socialized with children and other dogs. Being raised indoors our puppies are well acclimated to normal household noises.

Raising our puppies is very serious to us. Each puppy receives plenty of individual handling and we start early with nail trimming and grooming. Once the puppies are old enough we start them with motivational (clicker) obedience training as well as drive building with a rag and ball.

At 6 weeks old we start them on daily walks on a leash and also introduce crate training so that they are comfortable with both when they go to their new homes.

At 7 weeks the puppies are temperament tested and conformation evaluated to help place them in the best possible home. Each potential puppy buyer is asked to fill out a questionnaire so that we may learn about their individual situation and facilitate the picking of a puppy who will fit well into their life.

Our puppies are weaned on a raw diet and minimally vaccinated. While we do not require that new puppy owners feed their puppy a raw diet it is recommended. We will send home information with each puppy on how to continue the raw diet or how to wean the puppy onto a dry diet if that is the owner's preference. In addition each puppy buyer will receive information on general care as well as a suggested vaccine protocol.
